The Luxembourg Museum is hosting a superb exhibition of impressionists and post-impressionists painters (mainly fauves, some Nabis too), that were part of the very active circle which existed in Le Havre.
So it is no surprise to find a large selection of paintings which belong to the MuMa in Le Havre – which hosts a fantastic collection of Eugène Boudin paintings.
The surprise is elsewhere, in the presence of several excellent painters – who would deserve a personal exhibition – next to some of the most famous artists of the time.
There are a few earlier paintings (like Delacroix), artists from the Barbizon School (Corot, Courbet…), Jongkind and Boudin, famous impressionists (Monet, Sisley, Pissaro, Renoir…), Nabis (Bonnard, Vuillard), Fauves painters (Marquet).
But the exhibition offers the opportunity to admire works by Stanislas Lépine, Armand Guillaumin, Charles Camoin and Henri Manguin.
