Exhibition Chagall, between war and peace, Musée du Luxembourg

Marc Chagall, who died a few months short of his 98th birthday, lived one of the most troubles times and witnessed the horrors of the 2 World Wars.

The Luxembourg museum is hosting an exhibition of works in relation with war and peace.

The first rooms display rarely seen works when Chagall was not yet Chagall, with some very beautiful paintings and some drawings which differ in style.

Exhibition Le Havre Modern Art circle at the Musée du Luxembourg

The Luxembourg Museum is hosting a superb exhibition of impressionists and post-impressionists painters (mainly fauves, some Nabis too), that were part of the very active circle which existed in Le Havre.

So it is no surprise to find a large selection of paintings which belong to the MuMa in Le Havre – which hosts a fantastic collection of Eugène Boudin paintings.

The surprise is elsewhere, in the presence of several excellent painters – who would deserve a personal exhibition – next to some of the most famous artists of the time.
